Sindi played a key role in founding the African Women Chartered Accountants Forum (AWCA), a section 21 company, and its investment arm AWCA Investment Holdings (AIH). As the organisation's first President she has led AWCA to become a well-established platform for the acceleration of the advancement of African women chartered accountants. Sindi is currently the Non-Executive Chairperson of AIH.
Sindi is also the co-founder and Executive Chairperson of Advanced Capital. Some of her previous roles include: founding member of Gobodo Incorporated; Financial Director at SARHWU Investments; Group Chief Financial Officer of Transnet and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA); Group MD of Viamax and Executive Partner at EY.
Most recently Sindi has been appointed Deputy Chair of the Audit & Compliance Committee for FIFA as part of their Governance Reform.
Brendon is the acting Managing Director of AWCA Human Capital. He is also the CEO of Northwind Capital, an advisory and investment company with a focus on Africa. At Northwind, Brendon is responsible for investments, capital raising and deal implementation.
Brendon is leading the facilitation and formation of a joint venture between Northwind Capital and AWCA Investment Holdings (AIH) (Pty) Ltd to form AIH Northwind Holdings, a B-BBEE investment firm of which he is an executive director.
Brendon spent 12 years in the UK, where he founded and managed an IT company that grew from a start-up to a well-established firm with three offices employing over 70 staff. In 2004, Brendon was appointed UK Operations Director for 1st Contact Limited before returning to South Africa as 1st Contact's Managing Director In 2007. In 2010, Brendon co-founded Kube Outsourcing, which has subsequently been renamed AWCA Human Capital.
Zama is a qualified Chartered Accountant with an Honours degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University). She is currently a Fund Manager with the National Empowerment Fund, while also holding a board position at the African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) Forum.
After completing her articles at KPMG, she was selected to become an Audit Manager within KPMG's Information and Consumer Markets business unit where she led audit teams, handled fee negotiations and managed client relationships.
Zama is passionate about community upliftment, especially that of young African females. She is a mentor under the Campaign for Girls, which is a holistic development initiative that identifies talented, young girls with leadership potential and empowers them.
Paul is the current Chairman of Northwind Capital.
As CEO of Alexander Forbes Ltd from 1989 to 1999, Paul was responsible for the listing of the group and developing the company internationally to operate in 21 countries. From 2001 onward he was Non-Executive Chairman until the company was bought and de-listed in 2006.
In 2001, Paul joined the board of MTN Group Ltd until 2006, when he was appointed Chairman of MTN South Africa until 2012. He has also served in non-executive positions on advisory boards for the Department of Justice, The Salvation Army Southern Africa and the South African Insurance Brokers' Association.
